I am curious to throw this discussion out there. In an issue of Supply Management magazine there was post about establishing a licence to practise as a procurement professional. Very advocated for by CIPS CEO David Noble. Yes this would be in the same way lawyers have a licence. The post was specific to the UK, argument being that the profession would attract the best talent and the profession would be well recognised.
Procurement would also rise in profile and also overall performance would be notable.
I had never thought of licensing needs for Procurement, what are your thoughts?
